Do I need to be a developer to use WOCOM?
No. Most of our customers use the dashboard — upload a contact list from Excel, type your message, hit send. That's it. If you do have a developer and want to plug us into your existing software, every plan includes integration tools your IT person will find familiar.
What documents do I need to get activated?
Three things: (1) a valid government-issued photo ID for the person opening the account, (2) your business registration (Business Name Certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, etc.), and (3) a recent utility bill or similar document showing your business address. Upload happens right after signup from your dashboard. Our team reviews every submission personally — usually done within 1 business day.
Why do I need to upload documents?
It's a Jamaican telecom requirement — Digicel, FLOW and the OUR need every SMS sender to be identifiable. It's also good for you: verified senders get faster delivery and fewer messages flagged as spam. Think of it like a business licence for messaging.
How fast do messages arrive?
Usually under one second from when you hit send to when the phone buzzes. We connect directly to Digicel and FLOW, so there's no international middleman slowing things down. Perfect for login codes, payment confirmations and other time-sensitive messages.
Can I send to non-Jamaican numbers?
Yes — USA, Canada, and other Caribbean numbers are supported. International rates apply. We're fastest and cheapest for Jamaican 876 numbers, which is why most of our customers use us as their primary Jamaica SMS provider and separate providers for other regions.
What happens to unused credit?
It rolls over. Forever. No monthly expiration, no "use-it-or-lose-it". Credit you bought a year ago is still sitting there waiting.
